I guess my illness is going to stick around for a little bit. This misery is unrelenting.

If it were still the 19th century, this that i am laying in would be my death bed. And my husband would be by my bedside wringing his cap tightly. The town physician would then clasp his black medicine bag shut and tell him that i only have a few days left at most. Before leaving- the physician advises my husband that if the wind should breathe a little cooler that night- my health could give out at any moment- and that the windows were to be shut tightly until noon the next day.

My husband, 8 years my senior, heaves outs a heavy sigh while closing his eyes in thought. He would only lift them to stare out the window in hopes to see if our 7 little children were bounding across the prairie towards the house, hungry for supper. But there is no sound of them, no shrieking of excited little children, for they were only a quarter of their way home on the 6 mile trek from the school house.

Only the gentle applause of grass and leaves could be heard from outside.

... but it's not the 19th century, i don't live in a Steinbeck novel, and contraceptives have since been invented.

146st and Willets Point Blvd, the cusp that seperates Flushing and Whitestone Queens. Tomorrow I leave the apartment that I associate to most as home, the nest i grew up in. As a family we spent the longest run of consecutive years in this apartment (maybe 12 years), my brother and I grew up and both flocked out of this very place. But tomorrow will be the last time i say good bye. Mom and Pop are moving, to a more suitable apartment for the two of them, at the end of this month. And I'm absolutely supportive of their decision to move; it would be better for them to not be constantly reminded of an empty nest and to have something as exciting as moving to change the pace. Letting go and moving on is an emotionally taxing thing to do, but there's only one option- which is accepting the unrelenting movement of time and continue trucking along. Here i go again, my emotions making a prominant appearance in my life. Oh how bittersweet, but dwelling on it would only make the situation seem unnecessarily depressing.

C'est la vie.

Here are just a few photos from my last night out romping around New York City Ironically enough i didn't manage to see any of my usual nyc area friends, even though i love them all very much, instead i ran around making all sorts of new friends- and then eventually meeting up with lovelies, Caroline & Ani.

I didn't get it at first, then i thought it must be an installation. (haha)

So I got a hug, and then eventually ended up giving them.

New friends (not including Roberto, Shayna, Mike, Shirtless guy, Pseudo- Travis McCoy and his girlfriend, Korean dude, Jesus, Jesus's friend, or the two other Korean dudes i met last night)
Those two guys in the back were just visiting from Michigan, and i shared my spliff with them. I sure hope NYC was a lot more exciting than they could ever have imagined it being.

Yes, they seem a little wonky and swollen- and again it is because i've done a poor job of documenting my work so far, and i tried to make due by cleaning up some shitty images on photoshop.
I've heard that they have demolished and discarded of these thus far, so i guess retrieving better quality pictures is out of the question. No matter.

Probably the largest i've worked so far in terms of dimensions. I'd like to try some mural painting next.

My friend Elsa Keller left some awesome gems of composition and imagery on my MacBook Photobooth. I took them and worked the colors to my liking so that I could reproduce them into oil paintings. I've imagined that they would be of a larger scale than what i'm used to, but i'm still not sure with specifics.
